Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
1. What This Policy Covers
Learn Factory LLC, a Florida limited liability company at 843 NE 211th St, Miami, FL 33179, United States, operates learnfactory.org (the "Site").
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on the Site, what each one does, how long it lasts and how you control it.
It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we hold and what rights you have over it, and forms part of our Terms of Service.
It does not cover cookies set by other websites you visit, including platforms we link to, or by the community platform once you are logged in there. Those are governed by the policies of the companies that run them.
Questions: support@learnfactory.org.
2. What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. On your next visit, the browser sends it back, so the site can recognize the browser and remember something about it.
We also use technologies that work in a similar way:
- Pixels, also called tags or beacons: a tiny invisible image or snippet of code that fires when a page loads, telling a platform that something happened.
- Local storage: a browser store that holds data without sending it back on every request. We use it for interface preferences.
- Scripts loaded from other companies, which may set their own cookies as they run.
Two distinctions matter when you read the tables below.
First-party or third-party. A first-party cookie is set by learnfactory.org. A third-party cookie is set by another company whose code runs on our page, such as a payment or advertising provider.
Session or persistent. A session cookie disappears when you close the browser. A persistent cookie stays for a set period, which we list.
Throughout this policy, "cookies" means all of the above.
3. The Four Categories We Use
| Category | What it does | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Routes pages, keeps the Site secure, prevents payment fraud, remembers your cookie choices | No. The Site cannot work without these |
| Preferences | Remembers your language choice between English and Russian, and interface settings | Yes |
| Analytics | Counts visits, shows which pages are read and where people leave | Yes |
| Advertising | Measures which campaigns bring applications and allows retargeting | Yes |
Strictly necessary cookies run from the moment you arrive. Everything else is blocked until you accept it in the banner.
If you decline, we do not set preference, analytics or advertising cookies, and the Site still works. You will see the language toggle reset on each visit, and we will not know you were here.
We do not use cookies for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use them to make automated decisions about you.
4. What We Currently Set
Strictly necessary
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Consent record | learnfactory.org | Stores which categories you accepted, so we do not ask again | First-party | 6 months |
| Session | learnfactory.org | Keeps you on the same server and maintains your session | First-party | Session |
__stripe_mid | Stripe | Identifies the browser for payment fraud prevention | Third-party | 1 year |
__stripe_sid | Stripe | Identifies the checkout session for fraud prevention | Third-party | 30 minutes |
Stripe cookies are set when a checkout or payment element loads. They are necessary to take payment safely and are covered by Stripe's own privacy policy.
Preferences
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Language | learnfactory.org | Remembers English or Russian | First-party | 12 months |
Analytics and advertising
We load analytics and advertising scripts only after you accept those categories. The providers in use, and the cookies each one sets, are listed in the preference centre, which you can open any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the Site footer. That list updates automatically when we add or remove a tool, which is why it, and not this page, is the authoritative record.
Analytics cookies typically last up to 14 months. Advertising cookies typically last up to 13 months, and some are shorter.
If you want the full current list in writing, email support@learnfactory.org and we will send it.
5. Third Parties on Our Site
Some cookies are set by other companies whose code runs on our pages. We choose them, we can switch them off, but we do not control what they do with what they collect.
| Provider | When it loads | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | On checkout and payment pages | Taking payment, preventing card fraud |
| Our community platform | When you follow a link into the community or log in | Keeping you logged in, delivering lessons |
| Our video conferencing provider | When you join a session from a link on the Site | Running the call |
| Our booking and form tools | On application and scheduling pages | Submitting your answers and holding a slot |
| Analytics and advertising providers | After you accept those categories | Measurement and retargeting |
Each of these processes data under its own privacy policy, and we cannot change what they do with it. Our Privacy Policy explains what we receive back from them and how we use it.
We do not allow third parties to place cookies on our Site for their own independent purposes beyond what is described here, and no advertiser pays us to place anything on this Site.
6. Advertising Pixels and Retargeting
If you accept advertising cookies, a pixel from the platforms we advertise on runs on our pages.
What it does. When you load a page or submit an application, the pixel tells the platform that a browser with a given identifier reached that point. That lets us see which campaigns bring applications, and lets us show ads to people who visited the Site and did not apply.
What the platform receives. The page URL, the event name, your IP address, your browser and device details, and any identifier it already holds for you, which is usually your logged-in account on that platform. It may combine all of it with data it holds about you from everywhere else, under its own privacy policy and not ours.
What we receive back. Aggregate counts: how many people saw an ad, clicked, and applied. We do not get a list of names. We cannot tell from the ad platform that a specific individual visited a specific page.
Retargeting. Ads shown to people who visited us are served by the platform, not by us. We tell it which audience to target; it decides who sees what and when.
Turning it off. Decline advertising cookies in our banner, or withdraw consent later in the preference centre. You can also change ad personalization settings inside each platform's own account settings, which stops them using your data for ads across every advertiser, not just us.
7. Your Choices
Our banner. On your first visit you choose which categories to accept. Rejecting is as easy as accepting: both are one click, on the same screen, with equal prominence. We do not use a design that nudges you toward accepting.
The preference centre. Open "Cookie settings" in the Site footer at any time to see the current list, change a category or withdraw consent entirely.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we honour it automatically: we treat it as an opt-out of advertising cookies and of any sharing of your data for targeted advertising, and we do not ask you again.
Your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, block third-party cookies specifically, or clear everything when you close it. Browser-level blocking is broader than our banner and applies to every site.
Platform ad settings. The advertising platforms each have their own ad personalization controls in your account settings there. Turning those off stops personalization across all advertisers.
Industry opt-out pages. The Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info), the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org) and Your Online Choices (youronlinechoices.eu) let you opt out of many advertising networks at once. These opt-outs are themselves stored in a cookie, so clearing your cookies clears them.
What breaks. Blocking strictly necessary cookies at browser level will break the Site: checkout will fail, the language toggle will not hold, and the cookie banner will reappear on every page because we cannot remember your answer.
Blocking optional cookies breaks nothing. You will not be shown a worse version of the Site, charged a different price, or denied any service for declining.
8. Consent
We ask for consent before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary. Nothing optional loads until you choose.
Your choice is stored for 6 months. After that we ask again. We also ask again if we add a provider in a category you had accepted, or if you clear your cookies, since your answer was stored in one.
Withdrawing is one click in the preference centre, and takes effect immediately for anything we control. Cookies already placed on your device are not deleted automatically by that action: clear them in your browser, or use the delete option in the preference centre where your browser allows it.
Withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing unlawful. It stops what happens from that point on.
We keep a record of when you gave or refused consent and which categories you chose. We are required to be able to demonstrate consent, and that record is how we do it. It is kept for 2 years.
9. Do Cookies Identify You
Most cookie data is not a name. It is an identifier, an IP address, a device and browser signature, and a list of pages.
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and US state privacy laws, that combination usually counts as personal data anyway, because it can single out a device and in many cases a person. We treat it as personal data.
We do not try to attach a name to analytics or advertising cookie data. We do not maintain a profile of individuals based on browsing our Site.
Where you apply, book a call or buy, you give us your name and email directly, and that is held under our Privacy Policy. If your application can be linked to a cookie identifier, for example because you submitted a form in the same session, we hold that linkage only as long as we need it to attribute the lead to a campaign.
All your rights over this data — access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, opt-out of targeted advertising — are set out in the Privacy Policy, including how to exercise them and how long we take to respond.
10. Changes
We update this policy when we add or remove a tool that sets cookies, or when the law changes what we must tell you.
The current version is always at learnfactory.org with the date it took effect at the top. We review it at least annually.
If we add a provider in a category you already accepted, we ask for your consent again rather than assume the old answer covers it.
The preference centre, not this page, is the live record of what is running right now. This page explains how it works; the preference centre tells you what loaded today.
